The synthesis of potentially quadridentate ligands containing both phosphorus and arsenic donor atoms

Abstract

General methods for the syntheses of the potentially quadridentate ligands (o-Ph2L·C6H4)2(o-Ph2L′·C6H4)L′ and (o-Ph2L′·C6H4)2(o-Ph2L·C6H4)L′(L′= P or As; L = As or P) are discussed. The preparation of bis(o-diphenylarsinophenyl)(o-diphenylphosphinophenyl)phosphine, (o-Ph2As·C6H4)2(o-Ph2P·C6H4)P, is considered in more detail.
