Dinitrogen trioxide. Part VIII. Vapour–liquid equilibria in the system dinitrogen trioxide–dinitrogen tetroxide

Abstract

The partial pressure of nitrogen dioxide above liquid mixtures of dinitrogen trioxide and dinitrogen tetroxide has been determined by a spectrophotometric method. The results are combined with published data to obtain partition coefficients for the various species and to estimate thermodynamic data for the dissociation of liquid dinitrogen trioxide. The visible absorption spectrum of dinitrogen trioxide has been obtained.
