Preparation and properties of aminodifluorophosphine

Abstract

Aminodifluorophosphine, H2N·PF2, has been prepared by the gas-phase reaction of ammonia with bromodifluorophosphine. The compound has been characterised by its reaction with hydrogen bromide and by i.r., n.m.r., and mass spectroscopy. The possibilities of preparing iminobisdifluorophosphine and nitrilotrisdifluorophosphine have been investigated.
