Group IVB dicyanoethylene-1,2-dithiolato-complexes

Abstract

The reactions between disodium dicyanoethylene-1,2-dithiolate (Na2mnt) and various Group IVB halides and acetates have been investigated. Complexes exhibiting the following stoicheiometries have been prepared and characterized: M(mnt)32–(M = Sn or Ge), Sn(mnt)2X22–(X = Cl, Br, or I), Pb(mnt)22–, and Pb(mnt)Br–. X-Ray powder patterns, conductivity data, i.r. spectra and electronic spectra are reported and discussed.
