The homogeneous oxidation of amines to aldehydes or ketones: formation of amine–hydrides of molybdenum

Abstract

Treatment of the cation [(π-C5H5)2Mo(SMe2)Br]+ with some amines R1R2CHNH2in water gives the amine–hydrides [(π-C5H5)2Mo(NH2CHR1R2)H]+ together with aldehydes or ketones, R1R2CHO,R2= H or alkyl.
