Pentaborane(9)-catalysed condensation of silylamines

Abstract

Trisilylamine and (SiH3)2NMe undergo condensation reactions catalysed by B5H9 to form (SiH3)2NSiH2N(SiH3)2(I) and SiH3(Me)NSiH2N(Me)SiH3(II), respectively, in high yields.
