The reaction of tropone with manganese carbonyl. The X-ray crystal structure of tricarbonyl-1-syn-(1′,2′-dihydro-2′-oxo-1′-oxa-azulen-3′-yl)-h5-pentadienylmanganese

Abstract

The structure of the title compound has been determined and shows that its formation involves cleavage of one molecule of tropone, condensation with a second molecule, and formation of a tricarbonylmanganese complex with the open-chain dienyl system so generated.
