The configurations of dimethylmyleran (2,5-bismethanesulphonyloxyhexane)

Abstract

Reaction of the two isomeric forms of dimethylmyleran with sulphide or hydroxide ions gives cyclic products from which the meso- and (±)-configurations can be deduced.
