The structure of pododacric acid, a tricyclic aromatic diterpene acid

Abstract

Pododacric acid from N. Z. Podocarpus species has been formulated as (Id) and its structure confirmed by partial synthesis of its tetra-O-methyl derivative (IIa) from podocarpic acid (Ia).
