Torsional oscillator model for the trans peptide group

Abstract

The configurational properties of the peptide group (—C′O—NH—) in a number of secondary amides of the type R·C′ONH·R′ depend on the steric and polar properties of R and R′. In view of this dependence, a torsional oscillator model for the trans peptide group is proposed.
