Cycloaddition of dichloroketen to some steroid olefins

Abstract

The reaction of dichloroketen with 5α-cholest-1-, -2-, and -3-enes gives 1 : 1 cycloadducts in 50–60% yields. The structures of the cycloadducts have been assigned on the basis of spectroscopic measurements on the adducts and their dechlorinated derivatives.
