Defluorination reactions by aluminium chloride and methyl iodide. Part I. Halogenofluoroethanes

Abstract

The reactions of halogenofluoroethanes with aluminium chloride in methyl iodide have been studied. Halogenoethylenes have been obtained together with rearranged, chlorinated, and iodinated ethanes. The i.r. spectra of a series of halogenoethylenes are discussed.
