Mass spectra of the Erythrina alkaloids: a novel fragmentation of the spiran system

Abstract

Mass spectra of several Erythrina alkaloids and their derivatives are recorded. With the aid of deuterium labelling a novel mode of fragmentation of the Δ1(6) aromatic Erythrina alkaloids has been rationalised.
