Mass spectrometry of some alkyl peroxides

Abstract

The mass spectra of dimethyl, diethyl, di-(n- and iso-)propyl, di-(n- and s-)butyl peroxides and isopropyl hydroperoxide have been recorded, and the fragmentation patterns are discussed. Elimination of one olefin group is an important process, and the spectra show close similarity to those of the corresponding hydroperoxides.
