A new approach to rate measurements by use of nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Digital analysis of lineshapes

Abstract

A method has been devised for the complete digital analysis of n.m.r. lineshapes and applied with success to a variety of problems. The proton exchange reaction of 1,1-bisethylsulphonylethane, its deuterium isotope effect, and the internal rotation of the amide group in NN-dimethylnicotinamide have been investigated as examples of uses of the new method.
