Six- and eight-co-ordinate complexes of titanium tetrachloride
Abstract
The reactions between titanium tetrachloride and ligands related to o-phenylenebisdimethylarsine are studied. The formation of a six- or an eight-co-ordinate complex is dependent upon the nature of the donor atom and the steric properties of the alkyl groups attached to it, but not upon the electronic properties of the ligand, crystalpacking forces, or solvent.
