Kinetics of peroxodisulphate oxidation of dicyanobis-(2,2′-bipyridyl)-iron(II) and of related compounds

Abstract

Peroxodisulphate oxidation of Fe(LL)2(CN)2, where LL = 2,2′-bipyridyl, 1,10-phenanthroline, or one of its substituted derivatives, follows second-order kinetics. Rate constants correlate with electron-withdrawing or -releasing properties of the ligand substituents.
