Phosphorus–fluorine compounds. Part XVIII. Some N.m.r. observations on tetrakis(fluorophosphine) and mixed fluorophosphine–carbonyl complexes of nickel(O)

Abstract

Partial analyses of the 19F n.m.r. spectra of NiL4 complexes (where L = PF3, CF3PF2, (CF3)2PF, CCl3PF2, CH2CIPF2, Me2NPF2, and C6H4O2PF) yields values for the coupling constants 1JPF, 3JPF, 2JPP, and 4JFF. The low values of 2JPP are related to molecular orbital energies. N.m.r. parameters for compounds of the type NiLn′(CO)4–n are tabulated [L′= Me2NPF2, Et2NPF2, C5H10NPF2, and (Me2N)2PF.].
