Proton magnetic resonance and Raman spectra of some methylpolygermanes

Abstract

The 1H n.m.r. spectra of Me5Ge2CH2GeMe3, (Me3Ge)3GeMe, (Me3Ge)2GeMe·GeMe2Et, (Me3Ge)4Ge, (Me3Ge)2GeMe·Ge2Me5, Me(GeMe2)5Me, and (Me3Ge)2GeEtGe2Me5 have been examined at 220 MHz. Differences of chemical shift are sufficient to allow structural assignments to be made. The Raman spectra of Me10Ge4 and Me9EtGe4 have been examined.
