Magnetic properties of some copper(II) complexes of 2,2′-azopyridine, semicarbazide, thiosemicarbazide, and 2,3-dimethylquinoxaline

Abstract

The magnetic properties of a number of copper(II) complexes of general formula CuX2,nL have been studied [X = Cl or Br; when L = 2,2′-azopyridine n= 0·5, 1, or 2 and when L = semicarbazide, thiosemicarbazide or 2,3-dimethylquinoxaline n= 1]. Structures which are compatible with the magnetic data are suggested for the complexes and are compared with those reported from spectroscopic studies.
