Novel intermediates in some olefin insertion reactions of platinum hydrides

Abstract

The complex trans-PtHNO3(PEt3)2 undergoes insertion reactions with dienes to give cationic enylic or π-allylic platinum complexes, which provides a general method for the preparation of these classes of compounds.
