Abstract

Chemical and spectral evidence for the 8α-acetoxy-dihydroparthenolide structure of a new sesquiterpene lactone, lanuginolide, isolated from the trunk bark of Michelia lanuginosa Wall along with dihydroparthenolide (first natural occurrence) are reported.
