Chlorination of adamantane by ferric chloride and antimony pentachloride

Abstract

Chlorination of adamantane by ferric chloride or antimony pentachloride gave chloroadamantanes having low 1 : 2 isomer ratios, similar to known radical processes and in contrast to polar reactions.
