Mono- and di-metallation of dicyclopropylacetylene

Abstract

Dicyclopropylacetylene forms a lithio-derivative on treatment with n-butyl-lithium in tetrahydrofuran, and dimetallation is effected by the n-butyllithium–tetramethylethylenediamine complex.
