The reaction between Feist's ester and dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate
Abstract
Feist's ester reacts with dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate at 180–190° to give a 1 : 1-adduct, which has been shown by X-ray crystallographic analysis to be methyl 2-hydroxy-5-methoxy-3,4-dimethoxycarbonyl-phenylacetate (VI).
