The preparation of 1β,11α-dihydroxy-steroids by microbiological hydroxylation

Abstract

Incubation of 3β-hydroxy-5α-pregnan-20-one with the fungus Aspergillus ochraceus gives the 1β,11α-dihydroxy-derivative in 52% yield.
