The role of hydroxygeraniol and hydroxynerol in the biosynthesis of loganin and indole alkaloids

Abstract

Loganin and indole alkaloids are efficiently biosynthesised in Vinca rosea from 10-hydroxygeraniol (16) and 10-hydroxynerol (18) with considerable randomisation of C-9 and C-10.
