Chemically induced dynamic nuclear spin polarization: a caveat
Abstract
CIDNP emission signals are observed in the thermal rearrangement of benzyl toluene-p-sulphenate (1) to benzyl p-tolyl sulphoxide (2) which cannot arise as a result of the rearrangement itself; the origin of the observed emission is discussed in terms of the utilization of the CIDNP technique for the detection of paramagnetic species.
