2-Nitrobenzenesulphenanilides (Ia,b) undergo an unusual thermal rearrangement to give phenothiazines (IIIa,b), aminonitrodiphenyl sulphides (IIa,c), and 2-aminobenzenesulphonanilides (IVa,b).
