3-Hydroxy-3-trifluoromethyl-2,3-dihydrothiazolo[3,2-α]benzimidazole exists only as the cyclic carbinolamine in the solid state and in solution while the corresponding 3-hydroxy-3-t-butyl derivative exists solely as the open-chain amino-ketone tautomer.
