An automated method for the determination of cyclohexylamine in cyclamates

Abstract

An automated method for the determination of cyclohexylamine in sodium cyclamate, calcium cyclamate and cyclamic acid with the Technicon AutoAnalyzer is described. The method is based on the formation of an azo dye with 4-nitroaniline. It is capable of determining cyclohexylamine in concentrations as low as 5 p.p.m. in cyclamate, at a rate of twenty samples per hour. Dicyclohexylamine does not interfere.
