The automatic determination of fluoride in urine

Abstract

Lanthanum-alizarin complexone reagent has been adapted to the Auto-Analyzer method for the determination of fluoride. When this was applied to urine analysis interference was encountered because of the saline content of the samples. This could be overcome by either precipitating the chloride with silver sulphate or by controlling the temperature of the distillation bath; of these methods the second was preferred.
