Optical absorption and photoconductivity in thin films of unstable azides. Part 1.—Cuprous azide

Abstract

Thin films of CuN3 were prepared by the solid-state reaction between thin films of alkali azides and cuprous halides. Electron diffraction studies and optical absorption measurements identify the reaction products as alkali halides and CuN3. The spectral distribution of the photocurrent in CuN3 thin films was measured. Optical absorption spectra and photoconductivity are interpreted in terms of an energy level diagram.
