Normal behaviour of scavengers in recoil tritium reactions

Abstract

Certain apparent anomalies, first reported by Urch and Welch, concerning the effect of scavengers on recoil tritium reaction are examined. Their existence is confirmed, but their origin appears to be due simply to the incomplete control of thermal process. These effects do not therefore imply any complex or significant involvement of scavengers in hot processes.
