Nuclear magnetic resonance spectra of some asymmetric insertion compounds of monochloropentafluoroacetone

Abstract

Monochloropentafluoroacetone inserts into the YZ bond of non-metal and metalloid compounds to give products with general formulae RnZOC(CF2Cl)(CF3)YR′m(I), which have an asymmetric carbon atom. The fluorine nuclear magnetic resonance spectra are examples of the ABX3 spin system with JAB > ν0δAB[double greater-than, compressed]JAX and JBX. The spectra are analyzed to give chemical shifts and coupling constants.
