Tetracycline studies. Part II. Syntheses of 2-carbomoyl-1,3,8,9-tetrahydroxy-5-methylanthracene and related compounds

Abstract

The pretetramid analogues 2-carbamoyl-1,3,8-trihydroxy-5-methylanthraquinone (VII), 2-carbamoyl-1,3,8,9-tetrahydroxy-5-methylanthracene (IX), and 2-carbamoyl-1,4-dioxo-3,8-dihydroxy-5-methylanthra-9-one (X) have been synthesised from monobenzenoid intermediates.
