Isomeric 4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-3-oxo-2H-indazolecarboxylic acids have been synthesised from diethyl oxocyclohexanedicarboxylates. In addition, ethyl tetrahydro-3-oxoindazolecarboxylates have been dimerised in neutral iodine solution to give 2,2′-bis-(ethoxycarbonyl-4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-3-oxiondazolyls).
pK Values of the tetrahydroindazoles are reported.
