Pigments of Pseudomonas species. Part I. Structure and synthesis of aeruginosin A

Abstract

Two crystalline pigments, aeruginosins A and B have been isolated from a red strain of Ps. aeruginosa. Aeruginosin A is shown to be the inner salt of 2-amino-6-carboxy-10-methylphenazinium hydroxide.
