Extractives from Guttiferae. Part XIII. Isolation and structure of five xanthones from Garcinia eugeniifolia wall

Abstract

The heartwood of Garcinia eugeniifolia Wall contains four biflavanones, GB-1, GB-1a, GB-2, and GB-2a, and five xanthones. Evidence is presented to show that the xanthones are; euxanthone, gentisin, 1,4,7-trihydroxy-3-methoxyxanthone, 1,5,6-trihydroxyxanthone, and 1,6,7-trihydroxyxanthone.
