Action of heat on halogenocarbene adducts of cycloheptene and cis-cyclo-octene
Abstract
The action of heat on endo- and exo-8-bromobicyclo[5,1,0]octanes, 9,9-dibromo- and 9,9-dichlorobicyclo[6,1,0]nonanes, and endo- and exo-9-bromobicyclo[6,1,0]nonanes is described. The thermal rearrangement of the 9-halogenobicyclo[6,1,0]nonane system appears to be subject to stereochemical control, but it is uncertain whether or not it proceeds in a concerted manner. Some reactions of 2,3-dibromocyclononene are described.
