Colouring matters of the aphididae. Part XXXVII. Some further constituents of Tuberolachnus salignus and their relevance to the stereochemistry of the protoaphins

Abstract

The two enzymic functions that are involved in formation of xanthoaphin-sl from protoaphin-sl in Tuberolachnus both differ strikingly from those of Aphis fabae. The structures of a second xanthoaphin and a third chyrsoaphin-sl have been determined and shown to support the configuration previously assigned to the protoaphins about the binaphthyl linkage.
