Search for substantial barriers to internal rotation about the ring-substituent bond in 5α-cholestan-6β-yltrimethylammonium iodide, N-(5α-cholestan-6β-yl)-N-methylacetamide, and 1-(5α-cholestan-6β-yl)-tetrazole

Abstract

A satisfactory demonstration of substantial barriers to internal rotation about the ring-substituent bonds in certain 6β-substituted 5α-cholestanes was not possible, in the main probably because of too high flexibility in the steroid framework.
