A study of the amino-proton resonance of some methyl-substituted 5-aminotetrazoles

Abstract

Proton magnetic resonance spectra were used to study hydrogen bonding in deuteriodimethyl sulphoxide solutions of 5-acetamido-1-methyl-, 5-amino-1-methyl-, and 5-amino-2-methyl-tetrazoles. Intramolecular hydrogen bonding was detected for the acetamidotetrazole and intermolecular hydrogen bonding with the solvent for the aminotetrazoles. No dimerization of the tetrazoles occurred in the solutions.
