Cyclic inorganic compounds. Part VIII. Aluminium tribromide addition compounds of hexabromo- and hexachloro-triphosphonitriles

Abstract

Addition compounds P3N3Br6,AlBr3, P3N3Br6,2AlBr3, and P3N3Cl6, AlBr3 result from reactions between aluminium tribromide and the appropriate phosphonitrile in carbon disulphide solution. I.r. spectra of the products can be assigned on the basis of the co-ordination of the aluminium tribromide to nitrogen atoms in the phosphonitrile ring.
