Adducts of CdX2(X = Cl, Br, I) with 1,4-dioxan, 1,3-dioxan and tetrahydrofuran have been prepared. Except for (CdCl2)3,2mdx, these all have the stoicheiometry CdX2,L. The electron transfer and vibrational spectra of these compounds and differential thermal analysis studies of their decomposition are reported. Chain structures based on (CdX2)n,2L units are suggested.
