The bidentate chelating agent 8-dimethylarsinoquinoline. Part III. Complexes of divalent nickel

Abstract

The isolation of divalent nickel complexes with the bidentate chelating agent 8-dimethylarsinoquinoline (8-dmaq) is reported. Both bis- and tris-chelates of the type Ni(8-dmaq)2X2(X = Cl, Br, I, SCN, and NO3) and Ni(8-dmaq)3X2(X = ClO4 and Ph4B) are isolated, and their structures have been deduced from magnetic, conductivity, and spectral measurements.
