Phosphorus-31 nuclear electron Overhauser studies of phosphorus chalcogenides

Abstract

Measurements of the phosphorus electron Overhauser effect at two magnetic fields are reported for a series of phosphorus chalcogenides in carbon disulphide solutions containing the tri-butylphenoxyl radical. Large positive enhancements were observed for the PIII nuclei. This has enabled the 77Se satellite spectra of P4Se3 to be analysed, and n.m.r. parameters to be obtained for a number of the compounds.
