Unstable intermediates. Part LIX. Electron spin resonance studies from 4 to 77°K of hydrogen-bonded hydroxyl radicals in γ-irradiated ice
Abstract
The anomalous e.s.r. spectra obtained at 77°K from hydrogen-bonded hydroxyl radicals in γ-irradiated ice are shown to be the result of librations which are frozen out at lower temperatures. Evidence is also obtained for pairwise trapping of hydroxyl radicals.
