Metal carbonyl chemistry. Part VI. The reaction of ligands with methyl- or phenyl-manganese carbonyls
Abstract
The reaction is described of methyl- or phenyl-pentacarbonylmanganese with the ligands Ph3P, Ph3As, Ph3Sb, (Ph2P·CH2)2, (MeO)3P, (PhO)3P, or MeP(OPh)2. Monosubstituted complexes are obtained with triphenyl-phosphine, -arsine, or -stibine, whereas disubstitution occurs with phosphites or 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane. The stereochemistry of the complexes is discussed in the light of infrared and 1H n.m.r. spectroscopic measurements.
