Ultraviolet spectra of triphenylboroxine and some related compounds

Abstract

The electronic spectra of triphenyl- and tris-(p-bromophenyl)boroxine are compared with those of some related compounds: the marked differences from the spectra of the corresponding boronic acids suggest stronger interaction between the boroxine ring and phenyl groups. The effect of complexation with Lewis base is also briefly discussed.
